Converse Addiction!

by Ann Norment· May 03, 2014· in A peek into Ann's life· 0 comments tags: Ann Norment's Life

I admit I may have a problem.  I have a slight addiction to converse shoes.  Well, maybe it is not so slight.  I should probably be in rehab right now for this problem! I head to the beach in August for 2 weeks where there is a Converse shop at the outlet mall.  I will probably not be able to control myself!  I had to give up heels a few years ago but craved something fun to wear and Converse has so many styles to choose from.  Here is my little collection that is already getting out of hand!

Alzheimer’s Desease and Cancer – Tribute to my Dad

My Father was my biggest fan.  Two months ago today, July 13, 2013, he left my world for the next and I have been a little lost.  This first 12 months following his death will be full of firsts, first time my children have their birthday without their grandfather, my husband and I had our 18th anniversary without my father just a few days after he passed back in July.  It will be the first Holiday season without my father, then his birthday as well as mine without him physically here.  I am at a workshop in Florida right now and every time I come back from a workshop, I see him the following day. I tell him about all the new things I learned, all the new people I met and the amazing community of photographers I feel privileged to know.  He will not be there when I get back and I will not be able to share it with him.  I have felt his presence all week though.  He seems to be everywhere right now.  I will be spreading some of his ashes here.  He was in Florida as a young man in school before transferring to  New […]

I have neglected my blog

by Ann Norment· September 07, 2011· in A peek into Ann's life· 0 comments
So, as you have noticed, I have neglected my blog since February.  I have a lot of catching up to do so bear with me.  This is also a new blog I recently have had designed so I am still feeling my way around.  I have noticed that my old blog transferred, but not the images, hopefully, I will get that reconciled as well.  Over the next month, I will upload all the weddings from February until present, I have 11 of them to blog about.  I also have numerous engagement sessions, bridal sessions as well as some modeling sessions and family/newborn sessions.  In the mean time, you can check out my facebook page which seems to be the most updated right now at https://www.facebook.com/Anns.Photogrpahy ~ Ann

My Dad

by Ann Norment· January 30, 2011· in A peek into Ann's life· 3 comments
I had to place my Dad in Assisted Living the first week of January.  He is a WWII and Korea Vet.  He served in the Airforce for 29 years.  He was originally drafted to the Army Aircore.  After WWII he finished his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.  He was then called back into the services where he remained until 1968. He earned a Master’s Degree in Oklahoma while in the Air Force to prepare him for his last station which was at the Air Force Academy as a Flight Instructor and Professor of Human Physiology. Dad has Alzheimer’s and it has been a difficult 5 years taking care of him. It was a hard decision, but he really is enjoying his new home and friends. He is much safer where he is now and I don’t have to worry so much about him living alone.  Dad is now 86 and is in that fading generation of Americans that were immigrants and had huge dreams and goals. His generation worked extremely hard to build the cities of America and Dad lived through the depression.  He is a first generation Italian-American and extremely proud of his heritage.  It must have taken great courage […]

Walking my Dog the day after Christmas

by Ann Norment· December 26, 2010· in A peek into Ann's life· 0 comments
I am going to do something different.  My blog always focuses on what I do with other people, never what I do with my family or my day to day activities so I though I would share a few things. Yesterday evening it snowed for the first time on Christmas day in the Charlotte NC area since 1947.  By this morning, it had snowed enough to actually stick and cover the ground.  We got a few inches.  For a girl who grew up in Golden Colorado, this is a treat!  It has been many years since I have experienced snow on Christmas day!  I decided to take the dog for a walk today and photograph our adventure in the snow.
