Atlanta GA – Gracie in the Park – Peidmont Park

Gracie is not your typical 7 year old.  I think she is an old soul, you can see it in her eyes and the way she looks at her world, her philosophy is beyond her years.  An extremely articulate young lady in conversation who loves to interview you to find out every aspect of your life then she makes a mental note and moves on to the next adventure.  Her Mother Joy, has the warmest heart of anyone I have ever met.  I had the pleasure of capturing some images of Gracie for her mother a few years ago and was so happy to have them along for this workshop.  I am an instructor for Portrait Photography Group and we sometimes have wonderful guest mentors come in and help with our group.  This session is from two guest mentors, Eddie Tapp, the master at Photoshop post processing. He is considered one of the top experts on digital photography and Photoshop in the world. He is also a seeker of light when he is composing his images and teaches what makes a great image. The other instructor was Judy Host, renowned Natural Light Portrait Artist who creates beautiful art pieces for […]

Charlotte NC – Daryl + Lavanetta – Central Church of God

Daryl & Lavanetta had their wedding in Charlotte, NC at Central Church of God on April 14th, 2012.  Daryl & Lavanetta met through a mutual couple on a blind date. They dated 1 year and 7 months before Daryl proposed.  He asked Lavanetta to marry him at Maggiano’s Restaurant in Charlotte NC.  Their engagement lasted 1 year and 4 months.  Lavanetta decided on pink for her brides maids dresses and her flowers because it is her favorite color.  She chose a black and white color scheme for the reception decor because she loved the elegance of that color combination.  Daryl & Lavanetta decided to have their ceremony and reception at Central Church of God because it is their home church and the location and beauty of the church was spectacular which also influenced their decided to have the wedding there.  They also wanted the convenience for their guests to not travel to a reception hall after the ceremony. Central Church of God had a very beautiful reception/banquet hall. Here are some of my favorite images from their day: Special thanks to the following vendors that helped make Daryl & Lavanetta’s day run smoothly and made everything so beautiful: Delectables by […]

Charlotte NC – Natalie Rocking the Dress – Charleston SC

by Ann Norment· April 18, 2012· in Bridal/Rock the Dress Session· 0 comments tags: Belmont NC Wedding Photographer, Charleston SC wedding photographer, Charlotte NC Wedding Photographer, Fort Mill SC Wedding Photographer, Lake Wylie wedding photographer, Rock Hill SC wedding photographer, Rock the dress, Trash the dress
Wondering what you should do with that wedding dress of yours after your wedding day?  Once upon a time, a bride would box and seal her wedding dress for her daughter(s) to wear some day.  That tradition has faded. The modern bride needs other ideas about what to do with her wedding dress. They want to slide into all the best bridal gowns in town before getting the right one. You could re-sell it or you could have an incredible day and rock out your dress resulting in some amazing images!  You can take this session as far as you want to go, you do not have to submerse your wedding dress in the ocean or you can go all the way with this session, the choice is yours. Don’t like the ocean idea, there are lots of water falls in North and South Carolina, there are beautiful fields filled with flowers, paths lined with large live oak trees, forests and streams, even parks with water fountains.  This session is known as a Trash the Dress session but I prefer the term Rock the Dress since that is really what you are doing!  The dress in these images survived the […]

Tips for better images on your wedding day

by Ann Norment· March 02, 2012· in Uncategorized· 0 comments tags: Ann's Photography, Belmont NC Wedding Photographer, Charlotte NC Wedding Photographer, Fort Mill SC Wedding Photographer, Rock Hill SC wedding photographer, Wedding Photographer Lake Wylie
One of the things I like to talk to brides and grooms about is how to have better images on your wedding day.  There are several things to remember: *While walking down the isle, hold your bouquet waist level.  You want your bouquet waist level in most of your images.   This tip is for the bride as well as the brides maids. *When you have your first kiss, hold the kiss for 3 or 4 seconds to ensure I have several opportunities to capture that kiss.  Also, make sure you are touching each other.  If hands are straight to your side, it does not look right in the image.  You loose the warmth of that first kiss.  Hold hands or hold each other.  Groom can touch brides face, just make sure you both make a connection with your hands on each other when you kiss. *During your images of just the two of you, the same applies, hug, snuggle, touch each others faces.  I tend to shoot a lot of candid shots so they look more natural of the two of you interacting. *Be natural, even when I pose you, I will ask you to stand how you normally […]
